Our Staff

Our highly qualified professionals at Behavioral Care Associates and our affiliate practices use assessment treatment approaches that are based on extensive research and testing.  We work as a team with patients to improve their well-being and health.  Here are brief profiles of our clinical staff.

Ronald Dachman, Ph.D.

Dr. Dachman is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Director of Behavioral Psychology Associates, P.C.  and Behavioral Care Associates, P.C.  He has been providing services to parents, young children, adolescents, and families for over 25 years.  His clinical interests include neurobehavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, parent-child training, and pediatric psychology.  He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Western Michigan University and completed his predoctoral internship in behavioral pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy, and the Society for Pediatric Psychology.  His articles on treatment programs for children have been published in numerous professional journals.  Dr. Dachman sees patients in our Schaumburg and Barrington offices.

Lori A. Bolnick, Psy.D., M.A.

Dr. Bolnick  is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families.  Her clinical interests include pediatric health psychology, neurodevelopmental disorders, and the assessment of learning disabilities and ADHD.  Additionally, she trains clinical psychology students who work in inner-city Chicago Catholic Schools.  She enjoys speaking to parents and teachers about children's behavior and coping skills.  Dr. Bolnick received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and completed her internship at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Besides her psychology training, Dr. Bolnick holds a master's degree in Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University.  She has worked in hospital settings, including Lutheran General Hospital's Pediatric Psychology Service and Illinois Masonic Medical Center's Pediatric Development Center.  She also has extensive school-based experience working in the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools and the North Little Rock Public Schools. Dr. Bolnick sees patients in our Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, and Barrington offices.

Christopher J. Hummel, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Hummel is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and the Director of Psychiatric Services at Behavioral Psychology Associates, P.C. and Behavioral Care Associates, P.C.  Dr. Hummel’s medical training includes two premed internships, one at Severence Hospital in Seoul, Korea and the other at Princeton University.  He then completed medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Health Sciences Center; a General Psychiatry Residency at Boston University Medical Center; and a Child/Adolescent Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.  Dr. Hummel also earned a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University.  Following his training, Dr Hummel served as the Medical Director for the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in the Boston area before relocating to Illinois.  For the last two years, Dr. Hummel has treated children and adolescents at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital and continues to serve as the Medical Director of the Self-Injury Recovery Partial Hospital Program at ABBHH.  Dr. Hummel has treated patients for a wide variety of disorders and has a special interest in ADHD, Anxiety disorders, self-injury, Autism, Asperger’s Disorder and mood disorders.  Dr. Hummel is a former Fulbright scholar, recipient of the American Psychiatric Association’s Fellowship in Public Psychiatry, and Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School Farley Award.  Dr. Hummel sees patients in our Schaumburg office.

Cyndi Kiley, MSW

Ms. Kiley is a veteran teacher with over 16 years of experience.  She received her bachelor's degree in education with a minor in Reading at Illinois State University.  She received her MSW from the University of Illinois in Chicago.  She has taught in both public and private schools and enjoys the challenge of motivating children and adolescents to their full  potential.  Ms. Kiley's areas of interest include tutoring and academic coaching. She sees clients in our Schaumburg and Barrington offices.

Diana M. Rothermel, Psy.D.

Dr. Rothermel is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families.  Her clinical interests include psychological/psychoeducational assessment, neurobehavioral disorders, depression, and anxiety.  Dr. Rothermel received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Argosy University/Chicago Northwest.  She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at United Stand Family Counseling Center in Chicago.  Dr. Rothermel spearheaded the establishment and development of a Center for Inclusive Education on the north side of Chicago which specializes in conducting psychoeducational, psychological, and neuropsychological assessment for children and adolescents from area private schools.  She also trained and supervised clinical psychology students completing their diagnostic practicum.  Dr. Rothermel is a member of the American Psychological Association.  She sees patients in our Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, and Barrington offices.

Virginia M. Seng, Ph.D.

Dr. Virginia (Gigi) Seng is a licensed clinical psychologist.  Affiliated with Behavioral Psychology Associates since 1999, Dr. Seng specializes in working with children, adolescents and families. Her clinical interests include social skills training, treatment of anxiety disorders, treatment of trichotillomania,  and pediatric psychology.  Dr. Seng earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University in Chicago. She received her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Child Clinical Psychology from DePaul University in Chicago. While earning her doctorate, Dr. Seng received clinical training at a diverse range of sites including the community mental health center at DePaul University, the developmental assessment program at Children’s Memorial Hospital, and the community mental health center at Mercy Hospital. She completed her predoctoral internship at Children’s Hospital in Boston where she had a fellowship in psychology through the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Seng is a member of the American Psychological Association. She sees patients in our Schaumburg and Barrington offices.
