Our History in the community…Dear Friends:
I have been working with children, adolescents, and families for over 30 years. After attending college and graduate school in clinical psychology, I returned to Chicago in 1986 with the desire to start a child and family psychology practice. I worked hard in the early years to cultivate strong, mutually respectful relationships with many pediatricians and pediatric specialty physicians in the community, while also forming ties with medical centers, schools, publically funded community-based agencies, and graduate training programs in psychology.
Behavioral Psychology Associates opened its doors in early April of 1990 to address the needs of children, adolescents, and families. Since then, we have grown and expanded our scope to include working with adults and couples. We are happy to be able to offer services that include individual therapy for children, teenagers, and adults; couples counseling; family therapy; group therapy; psychiatric evaluations and treatment; psychological and psychoeducational testing; tutoring; and academic coaching. I am proud to announce that we have recently celebrated our 20th year anniversary and have already put together a committee to plan for our 25th anniversary celebration.
Our practice continues to change in many important and interesting ways. For example, we recently recruited Christine Digangi, a licensed clinical social worker with special expertise in trauma and child sexual abuse. Our group therapy topics are growing under the watchful eye of Dr. Virginia Seng. Chris H. Hummel, M.D., M.P.H., joined our team in August of 2011 to provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The next year is sure to bring even more exciting changes to Behavioral Psychology Associates.
I would like to thank all of the pediatricians, pediatric specialty physicians, educators, school social workers and psychologists, internists, family practitioners, attorneys, and all of the others who have supported us through the years. We wish you and your families the best that life has to offer. We also look forward to developing dynamic and productive relationships with professionals we have yet to meet.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to contact me directly, either by phone or email, if you would like to learn more about our practice and the services we offer. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best Warm Regards,
Ronald S. Dachman, Ph.D.
