Deborah A. Megson, M.S., L.C.P.C.
Deborah A. Megson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and co-founder of Behavioral Psychology Associates and Behavioral Care Associates. She is the Practice Administrator with over 30 years experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Ms. Megson received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Southern Illinois University. Her clinical and administrative experiences have included working for Head Start programs, the Kalamazoo Child Guidance Clinic, the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and the Ounce of Prevention program in Chicago. A clinical area of focus involves helping parents and their young children navigate through everyday situations such as bedtime, toileting, daily routines, separation issues, social skills, and discipline. Other treatment areas include children and adolescents with anxiety and mood disorders, OCD, anger and stress management, peer relationships, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and parent-child conflict/ family therapy, Ms. Megson is a member of the Illinois Counseling Association, Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association, and National Counseling Association.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters (both studying psychology), and their Boston Terrior, Murphy; gardening, scrapbooking, decorating, and Hawkeye football!
